I define courage as:
feeling afraid, diving in anyway, and transforming.
Kate Courageous is a lesson in unfurling.
And that’s why she’s kicking off this interview series. Kate’s video is the first in an ongoing collection of conversations I’ll be having with inspiring women about what’s unfurling in their lives right now. I’m so honored to have her as our inaugural speaker.
Kate willingly takes on her own unfurling in her work as a life coach, a writer and a speaker. On her blog and elsewhere online she shares with us who she is becoming, unabashedly detailing the hard work it has taken her to find herself at ease. She writes achingly heartfelt posts and e-products that call bullshit and spell out hard-won truth. Kate knows from courage.
The revolution starts within by facing that which is seemingly insurmountable, and discovering what you’re truly made of. Courageous living has become my specialty, and I use it as a revolutionary tool for evolutionary growth in my life, and to support the lives of others.
Right now, as you’ll learn in this interview, Kate’s unfurling is about boundaries. While we often think of unfurling as busting out, Kate talks about how her unfurling is putting structure to her world so that she can grow into its new shape. She’s experimenting with finding limits, particularly in her business, and by putting boundaries at those limits, she sees where she can expand.
Phenomenal.
What I love most about Kate is that she shows up as a bunch of dichotomies. She’s intelligent and intuitive. Vulnerable and brave. Spacious and focused. And the greatest good news is that she has “…a willingness to hold the parts of me that are rough in a tender way.” Rather than turning away, she’s turning toward.
Kate’s unfurling is a work in progress, as are ours. She’s becoming more and more herself.
